  • How is talking to a therapist different than talking to my friend or mentor or pastor?
    A therapist is specifically trained to help you navigate difficult life circumstances. A therapist can help you to gain new perspectives, learn how to approach problems, and how to move forward in a healthy way.
  • How do I know if I’m ready for therapy?
    This is a great question! All that you need to be ready for therapy is a willingness to be vulnerable and to be willing to actively participate in the therapeutic process. Are you ready for change?
  • How many sessions does therapy take?
    While we wish that we could answer this question, there is no way to tell how long therapy might take. It depends on what someone is struggling with and their commitment to the process. With that being said, therapy is not generally a “quick fix” and will require patience with yourself and the process.
  • How long are sessions?
    Sessions are typically 53 minutes long.

    Yes, therapy is generally confidential except for a few exceptions required by law. Some of these exceptions include: Suspected child abuse/neglect or dependent adult or elder abuse/neglect; if a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person or if a client intends to harm themselves.
